Objective of the TME 2010
"To help company managers and their stakeholders to see clearly through a strategic theme for the future of our companies: the concrete changes put forward which are incorporated by company leaders or pioneers to enable them to be both more competitive and responsible in their markets. These are based on concrete examples of steps that have been taken or are planned!If the participants can leave with one or more concrete idea of which they had not yet thought about or paid enough attention to, we will have gained our objective of being useful to the harmonious development of our companies.Here are a few guidelines in order to allow us the correct running of the debates and most of all a high level of satisfaction of the participants in bearing with their expectations.
Background for the choice of the theme for 2010
Economical life as it is today…. The challenges are numerous and the drifting of the actual system is dangerous
The impression that companies are under irrational demands coming from the shareholders
To make added value at the costs of the collectivity and the environment
To make more profits and have more unemployment (the system has become mechanical and adjusts to the human factor without caring for the life span of the planet)
To earn more by speculating with other people's money
To produce and consume without caring for the health of people and the durability of resources
The feeling that Europe is losing ground versus Asia through delocalization's
Having politicians who are disconnected with company issues (political gap)
Having an educational system and culture that does not favor the emergence of Top Managers or of a population that has the willpower to stand up to challenges
Excess consummation for us and starvation elsewhere
The waste of public money through customer favoritism and / or incompetence (political gap)
Generational break-up of values, methods of functioning, etc …(generation gap)An urgent need for profound changes (revolutions) in various domains is necessary. How can we make sure that what companies do in the future will be as good for the collectivity as for themselves. Find more respectful ways of long lasting development for the human being and for the plant (no longer creating added-value at the cost of society) accelerate the process of evolutions that go in the right direction!
The causes of disfunctionment
Most lifestyles, cultural ways of life or ways of thinking are still embedded from the system that we are progressively leaving (industrial, mass consummation …) because we are now entering the world of knowledge, exploitation of information and connection to networks in a volatile and complex world - open and unpredictable.New opportunities of the new environment are: globalization - technologies - better informed consumers - multicultural -green
The challenges are enormous and calling
Urgent radical changes: other ways of doing things, priorities, fair charges / prices / responsibilities
People who are in charge and are capable of creating a union of force in a society and with the different levels of society.
The new world needs to be created quicker: what do we have to renounce to, what do we have to change and who should do it ? We have to invent and accelerate the development of companies and future management: More competitive and the first to reply to changes, new needs and opportunities (example)
More responsible towards employees (human governance, human development, diversity, ways of working,…)
More ecological (products and processes …)
More society minded (fair trade, solidarity with the poverty stricken countries, society issues)Who are the companies that are up-to-date in these various respects?
What do they do ?
What do the stakeholder think including the state ?
What should they do better ?The necessity of changing the model, reviewing our lifestyle, accelerating changes, breaking the rules and regulations and the locks that slow down the necessary changes even if this could bring about a revolution between those who represent capitalism and the consumers of the 20th century.By making sure that companies aim to give a competitive service to the collectivity whilst still taking care to have satisfied employees and preserving the environment as best as possible. All this whilst helping to solve community issues.By making more intelligent products for better informed consumers.
